Ready for Another New Adventure
Good Morning!! And Happy Thanksgiving!
We are getting ready to go again. A year ago today we were in Irkutsk, right in the middle of Siberia, travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway. That was a big and wonderful adventure.
Next Friday, October 13 (suspicious, anyone?), one week from now, we are leaving on another multi-facetted adventure including a month in Greece followed by three weeks in Norway and Sweden. First, we will fly to Athens where we will spend a few days, combined with travelling on several ferries to visit an array of Greek islands. On November 3, we will meet 4 friends from Australia on Crete and explore the island with them for about 8 days.
Then, we fly to Oslo, Norway and board the first of several scenic railways on our way to the west coast. In Bergen, we will board the Hurtigruten ferry and travel up the west coast of Norway to Kirkenes on the North Cape, a week long journey. As it will be predominantly dark during those days, we hope to achieve our goal of seeing the Aurora Borealis, perhaps several times. It is said that North Cape is one of the best places in the world to view them.
From North Cape, we will fly to Narvik where we will embark on our final leg of this adventure, a train to Stockholm. From Stockholm, we fly home to Toronto on December 1.
We hope that you will travel with us again. It is fun to share our stories with you as we explore new territory. Greece, Norway and Sweden are new countries for us. We are excited to have the opportunity to visit them all.
